BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA injection), also known as Neurotoxin, is the first and only FDA- approved treatment to temporarily smooth dynamic wrinkles that form as a result of continuous day to day facial movements such as; squinting, smiling, or frowning. Treatment works by blocking nerve impulses to the muscle, thus causing them to relax. As a result, your expressions soften and these static wrinkles are greatly reduced. Treatment requires minimal downtime and you can return to your daily routine immediately after leaving our office.

Initial results vary, however they typically appear 5 to 7 days after injection, and may last for 90 to 120 days. Results are not permanent, therefore repeated injections are required to preserve and maintain lasting results.

Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA)
Dysport is another product offered at Luna Medical Spa for the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles. This is an alternative to Botox and is not interchangeable, meaning we provide clients one or the other in one treatment session. Dysport is fast-acting and results are noticeable in 2-3 days from injection. Results are long-lasting and may last for up to 5 months.

What is the difference between Botox & Dysport?
​
Both Dysport and Botox are similar in that they both come from botulinum toxin, a neurotoxic protein that is safe when used in small amounts. Dysport is primarily used for correcting glabellar lines, the frown lines between your eyebrows, whereas Botox can be used to treat many different types of wrinkles, including forehead wrinkles, laugh lines and crow's feet.
